Türkiye to Assume NATO Allied Reaction Force Amphibious Task Force Command in July 2025

Ankara, March 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: Türkiye will assume command of the NATO Allied Reaction Force Amphibious Task Force Command and the Landing Force Command for the first time, starting from July 1, 2025, the country’s National Defense Ministry announced on Monday.

In line with its NATO commitments, Türkiye will hold these key commands from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. This marks a significant milestone in the country’s contribution to NATO’s collective defense efforts.

According to the ministry’s statement, the Amphibious Task Force and Landing Force Command headquarters, along with Türkiye’s Marine Infantry Battalion Landing Force, will actively participate in the Dynamic Mariner/Flotex-25 Exercise. The exercise is scheduled to take place between March 24 and April 4, 2025, featuring the participation of the Turkish naval ships TCG Sancaktar, TCG Bayraktar, TCG Oruc Reis, and TCG Gaziantep, alongside allied forces in Spain.

This development underscores Türkiye’s continued commitment to NATO’s strategic initiatives and its role in enhancing regional security and cooperation among allied nations.
