Baku, March 23, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion of Pakistan Day, reaffirming the strong strategic partnership between the two nations.
In his congratulatory message, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the ever-expanding Azerbaijan-Pakistan cooperation, stating, “The current level of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan strategic partnership and our cooperation, which is enriched with new content day by day, is a source of great satisfaction.”
He highlighted the significance of joint initiatives in key sectors such as economy, transport, logistics, energy, investment, and defense industry, noting that these collaborations are fundamental to strengthening bilateral ties. The Azerbaijani leader also emphasized the alignment of both nations’ positions on international matters and their mutual support as a testament to the enduring Azerbaijan-Pakistan brotherhood.
President Aliyev underscored the importance of the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, built on shared cultural values, solidarity, and mutual trust. He pointed to the frequency of high-level visits and engagements as a clear sign of the dynamic growth of bilateral cooperation.
Referring to his recent meeting with Prime Minister Sharif during the Pakistani leader’s state visit to Azerbaijan last month, Aliyev commended the productive discussions held in an atmosphere of trust and understanding. He stressed that the agreements reached, along with the documents signed during the visit, would further expand the scope of bilateral collaboration and enhance economic and trade potential in various fields.
Expressing confidence in the continued growth of Azerbaijan-Pakistan ties, President Aliyev concluded, “I am confident that the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, strengthened by the time-tested brotherhood and unity of our peoples, will continue to grow and deepen through our joint efforts.”
Pakistan Day, observed annually on March 23, marks the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, which laid the foundation for the country’s independence.
