Indonesia’s Victory Over Bahrain Praised by Vice President Gibran, President Prabowo

Jakarta, March 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has commended the Indonesian national football team’s determination following their crucial 1-0 victory over Bahrain in Tuesday’s 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers match in Jakarta.

Gibran, who attended the match at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, highlighted the team’s unwavering spirit, discipline, and persistence, stating that the win was a testament to their hard work. He urged Indonesians to continue their full support for the national team as they push for World Cup qualification.

President Prabowo Subianto was also present at the stadium, showing his support for the team. Following the victory, he expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the players, coaching staff, and all those who contributed to Indonesia’s success.

The decisive goal came in the 24th minute, courtesy of Ole Romeny, securing Indonesia’s much-needed win. The result keeps Indonesia’s hopes alive in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with the team currently ranking fourth in Group C with nine points—just behind Saudi Arabia (10 points), Australia (13 points), and Japan (20 points).

Indonesia has now played eight of its 10 matches in the third round of qualifiers, with crucial fixtures ahead to strengthen their standing.
