Islamabad, May 6, 2025 — The Europe Today: Today, His Excellency Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, welcomed an esteemed delegation from the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs – General Inspectorate for Immigration at the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad. The visit is part of the EU-funded initiative titled “Promoting Admission and Stay Conditions in Romania among Romanian Consular Staff and Relevant Authorities in Third Countries.”
The Romanian delegation included:
- Chief Police Commissioner Laura-Lucia Teodor – Head of Delegation
- Deputy Police Commissioner Liviu Rotaru – Project Manager
- Deputy Police Commissioner Cătălin Grusuzache – Assistant Project Manager
- Police Commissioner Gabriel Vizireanu – Immigration Expert
- Police Commissioner Cosmina-Daniela Toader – Immigration Expert
The delegation will engage in high-level discussions with their Pakistani counterparts to explore effective ways of promoting legal migration. The focus will be on ensuring that citizens from third countries are fully informed and supported when considering Romania as a destination for employment, education, family reunification, or business opportunities.
This mission is one of five key engagements scheduled under a 24-month project cycle that commenced on October 31, 2024. The broader goal of the project is to enhance legal migration pathways, strengthen institutional cooperation, and prevent the misuse of migration systems.
Ambassador Stoenescu praised the commitment and professionalism of all participants, reaffirming Romania’s dedication to transparency, dialogue, and international cooperation in managing migration processes in a responsible and humane manner.
