Shavkat Mirziyoyev Meets Vladimir Putin in Moscow

Moscow, May 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official program in the Russian capital, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The two leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory, honoring the shared historical legacy and the heroism of their peoples during World War II.

During the talks, President Mirziyoyev and President Putin discussed key aspects of enhancing and further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia. Particular emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of the agreements reached during President Putin’s official visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

The importance of taking coordinated measures to maintain and build upon the positive dynamics of trade, economic, and investment cooperation was underscored. The parties also focused on accelerating the preparation and realization of joint projects in priority sectors of the economy, as well as fostering productive interregional collaboration.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing humanitarian exchanges, particularly in the fields of culture, the arts, science, and education, which contribute to deepening mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.

In addition, the leaders exchanged views on pressing issues on the international agenda, reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation on global and regional matters of mutual interest.
