Baku, June 11, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official visit to Uzbekistan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, held a meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in Tashkent.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Asadov conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the Uzbek leader. President Mirziyoyev expressed his appreciation and requested that his own greetings and well wishes be passed along to President Aliyev.
The two sides commended the steadily growing dynamics of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. They highlighted the significance of further strengthening these relations by elevating them to the level of a strategic alliance.
In a constructive exchange, both leaders discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, energy, transport, culture, and education.
Prime Minister Asadov also extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Mirziyoyev on the historic qualification of the Uzbekistan national football team for the FIFA World Cup for the first time, noting the achievement as a milestone for Uzbek sport and a source of pride for the nation.
The visit underscores the shared commitment of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to deepen their partnership and work jointly towards greater regional stability and prosperity.
