Beijing, April 14, 2026 – The Europe Today: Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President, arrived in Beijing on Tuesday morning to commence a four-day state visit to China at the invitation of Xi Jinping.
Accompanied by his spouse Ngô Phương Ly and a high-level delegation, President Tô Lâm was received at Beijing Capital International Airport by senior Chinese officials, including Politburo member Yin Li and other representatives of the Communist Party of China, alongside diplomats and members of the Vietnamese community in China.
The visit is being viewed as a significant step in advancing bilateral relations, marking a new phase of cooperation as both countries enter important stages of their national development. Vietnam is progressing into a new era following the outcomes of its 14th National Party Congress, while China is implementing its 15th five-year socio-economic development plan.
During the visit, top leaders from both sides are expected to hold high-level talks aimed at strengthening strategic connectivity and enhancing cooperation across key sectors. These include economy, trade, investment, tourism, supply and production chains, education and training, as well as science and technology.
The discussions are anticipated to outline new directions and practical measures to deepen ties between the two ruling parties and countries, contributing to the achievement of their respective development goals and long-term aspirations.
The visit underscores the continued commitment of both nations to fostering a comprehensive partnership based on mutual benefit, shared interests, and regional stability.
