Ashgabat, April 18, 2026 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan and the International Labour Organization have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation during a meeting held on April 18 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by Mahri Byashimova and an ILO delegation led by Miranda Fayerman, along with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.
The visit of the ILO delegation aims to organize practical activities across the country, including joint roundtable discussions in various regions with the participation of government institutions and social partners.
During the talks, both sides highlighted the systematic and sustainable nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the ILO, particularly in enhancing the national regulatory framework and implementing international labour standards. The importance of effective interagency coordination in executing joint initiatives was also underscored.
Special focus was placed on the implementation of the 2026 Cooperation Roadmap, described as a key mechanism for achieving concrete and measurable outcomes.
The participants also positively assessed recent collaborative efforts, including the presentation of findings from the 2025 survey and the collection of practical feedback at the local level.
Furthermore, the need to expand international awareness of Turkmenistan-ILO cooperation was emphasized during the meeting.
At the conclusion of the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and further deepen cooperation in the field of labour and social development.
