President Rahmon Reviews Agricultural Produce and Traditional Crafts Exhibition in Faizabad

Dushanbe, August 23, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon visited an exhibition showcasing agricultural products, traditional crafts and national cuisine during his working visit to Faizabad district.

The exhibition highlighted the district’s agricultural potential, the achievements of local farmers and the skills of women and artisans. A wide range of agricultural products was displayed, including vegetables, fresh and dried fruits, canned goods, legumes, grains and other locally produced items.

Officials informed President Rahmon that the results demonstrated the effective use of the district’s natural resources, favourable climatic conditions, fertile land and high-quality seeds, as well as the accumulated experience of local farmers.

The President was briefed that farmers in Faizabad district had increased the total area under agricultural crops to 11,370 hectares this year. Particular attention has been given to expanding the cultivation of grains, legumes, industrial crops, potatoes, vegetables and melons, taking into account the district’s favourable climatic conditions.

The exhibition also featured tomatoes, including the well-known pink variety, grain corn, bell peppers and legumes produced through replanting on an area of 240 hectares.

The agricultural displays reflected the hard work of the rural population and demonstrated Faizabad district’s considerable potential for increasing agricultural production and ensuring food security.

A separate section of the exhibition was dedicated to products prepared by local women and housewives. It featured various types of bread, fatir, traditional flatbreads and national dishes, highlighting the culinary traditions, creativity and craftsmanship of the district’s residents.

After reviewing the exhibits and learning about the activities of farmers and representatives of different sectors, President Emomali Rahmon issued instructions and recommendations aimed at further increasing agricultural production and preventing crop losses.

The Head of State also called for the creation of adequate agricultural reserves for the autumn and winter seasons, expansion of vegetable cultivation and vineyard areas, timely completion of autumn sowing, and wider use of high-yielding locally produced seeds.

The President’s recommendations underscored the importance of strengthening agricultural productivity, making effective use of available resources and further developing the agricultural sector in Faizabad district.
