Dushanbe, September 04, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon presented state awards, honorary titles and special and military ranks to a group of representatives of law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, military and security structures in recognition of their service to the country.
The awards ceremony was held at the Palace of the Nation in Dushanbe as part of celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s State Independence.
Addressing the ceremony, President Rahmon highlighted the important role played by the Armed Forces, military structures and law enforcement agencies in achieving national independence, safeguarding its achievements and ensuring national security, public stability and the protection of citizens’ rights and interests.
The President emphasized that a strong spirit of patriotism, civic responsibility and loyalty to the homeland had enabled the Tajik people to overcome difficult challenges throughout different periods of their history.
Rahmon stressed that defending the homeland, protecting its borders and ensuring peaceful living conditions for the population constitute a sacred duty and honorable responsibility for every serviceman.
Referring to the increasingly complex international environment, the President noted that terrorism and extremism, religious radicalism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime and other security threats continue to expand.
He said these challenges require military personnel not only to maintain a high level of professionalism and constant readiness, but also to possess broad knowledge, political awareness and the ability to effectively use modern technologies.
The President underscored that safeguarding national independence, peace and stability, national unity and public security is a sacred duty and responsibility of every member of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies.
He called on servicemen to recognize that faithful performance of their duties represents not only a professional responsibility but also a matter of conscience and an expression of loyalty to the nation and state.
Rahmon identified professional development, mastery of modern equipment and technologies, strengthening national consciousness and patriotism, and loyalty to the state and nation as key priorities for military commanders and personnel.
Military and law enforcement personnel receive state honors
Under a presidential decree issued in accordance with Article 69 of the Constitution of Tajikistan, a group of military personnel, law enforcement officers and veterans were awarded state honors for exemplary service and significant contributions to protecting citizens’ constitutional rights, combating crime, maintaining public order, and demonstrating courage and dedication.
The recipients included servicemen and officers who were awarded the honorary title of Distinguished Worker of Tajikistan, the Order of Spitamen, First and Second Class, the Order of Sharaf, First and Second Class, as well as the Medals of Courage, Distinguished Service, Compassion and Courageous Border Guard of Tajikistan.
A commemorative medal marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s State Independence and the Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Tajikistan were also presented to deserving recipients.
Another presidential decree granted successive and senior military and special ranks to responsible personnel from the Customs Service, Prosecutor General’s Office, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, State Committee for National Security, Committee for Emergency Situations, Tax Committee, Enforcement Service, Agency for Drug Control, and State Agency for Financial Control and Combating Corruption.
The newly conferred ranks included senior military and special ranks at the levels of Colonel-General, Lieutenant-General and Major-General, as well as corresponding ranks in the justice, drug-control, police, taxation and other state services.
President Rahmon said the loyal service, productive work and exemplary performance of military officers and responsible officials have consistently been recognized by the state during the period of Tajikistan’s independence.
He attributed the recognition of the recipients to their courage, vigilance, professionalism and strong sense of responsibility, noting that they had distinguished themselves among thousands of the country’s servicemen.
The President also instructed the leadership of military and law enforcement structures to treat servicemen with care and responsibility and to help develop highly qualified personnel capable of effectively fulfilling their duties.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Rahmon congratulated the recipients on their state awards and newly conferred military and special ranks.
He urged military personnel and law enforcement officers to remain committed to serving the state and nation, safeguarding national security and stability, strictly observing the law and maintaining discipline and order.
Rahmon expressed confidence that members of the Armed Forces, other military structures and law enforcement agencies would continue contributing to the development of Tajikistan, strengthening peace and stability, ensuring national security and maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for the country’s citizens.
