Dushanbe, September 15, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a strategic multi-year investment roadmap aimed at strengthening cooperation across key sectors of the Tajik economy.
The memorandum was signed on September 14 in London, United Kingdom, on the sidelines of the J.P. Morgan International Conference during a meeting between Tajikistan’s Minister of Finance Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, according to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Finance.
Covering the period from 2026 to 2030, the memorandum outlines cooperation in a number of priority areas, including sustainable development of the energy sector, particularly renewable energy, and reducing electricity losses.
The areas of cooperation also include irrigation, improving economic governance and the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, attracting private investment, enhancing transport connectivity, constructing educational institutions, advancing digitalization, and strengthening project preparation capacity.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation in the identified priority areas and advance joint initiatives under the strategic investment roadmap.
