Islamabad, September 22, 2026 – The Europe Today: Voting at the polling station established at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Pakistan concluded successfully on September 20, 2026, with a total of 130 people casting their ballots.
According to comments by Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev to TASS News Agency, those who participated in the voting included the leadership and staff of the Russian Embassy and Trade Mission, their family members, as well as Russian citizens residing in or temporarily staying in Pakistan.
Observers from the Civic Chamber of Russia who were present at the polling station reported that the voting process was conducted in accordance with established procedures and that no violations were identified.
The voting took place amid a challenging social situation in Islamabad, marked by heightened protest activity and partial traffic restrictions.
Despite these circumstances, the Russian Embassy, in close coordination with Pakistani authorities, undertook additional measures to inform Russian citizens about the voting arrangements and facilitate their access to the polling station.
The Embassy also organised convenient transportation arrangements, enabling Russian citizens residing in Islamabad and surrounding areas to participate in the elections.
Ambassador Khorev expressed his appreciation to all Russian citizens who exercised their right to vote in the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation.
He said their participation demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility and contributed to the successful conduct of voting at the Russian diplomatic mission in Pakistan.
