Vietnam

Hanoi, October 15, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking and Product Promotion Exposition (VIDEX CAMBODIA 2026) opened in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, bringing together 150 organisations and businesses through 189 exhibition booths to promote trade, investment and bilateral cooperation.

The event is being held at the Koh Pich (Diamond Island) Convention and Exhibition Centre and is jointly organised by Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Industry and Trade, alongside Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence.

Spanning 10,000 square metres, the exposition features 25 military-affiliated enterprises and units, as well as 125 civilian organisations and businesses, providing a platform for product promotion, business networking and the development of commercial partnerships.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Nguyễn Quang Ngọc said the exposition had become an important trade promotion event, creating opportunities for business and investment while strengthening mutual understanding, trust and cooperation between the two countries.

This year’s event takes place as Vietnam and Cambodia prepare to celebrate the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2027, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two neighbouring countries.

Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, General Tan Thanna, described the exposition as an important platform for businesses to identify potential partners and explore new avenues for cooperation.

He noted that despite global and regional uncertainties and ongoing supply chain restructuring, Vietnam and Cambodia continued to prioritise connectivity and mutually beneficial cooperation. Bilateral relations, he said, had expanded across trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

Tan Thanna expressed hope that the exposition would become a regular event and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening economic and defence cooperation, particularly in the defence industry and military trade.

Colonel Mai Quốc Trưởng, Deputy Chief of Staff of Vietnam’s General Department of Defence Industry and a member of the organising committee, said the exposition showcased selected products and services in an exhibition space combining modern technologies with traditional cultural symbols, including Vietnam’s One Pillar Pagoda and Cambodia’s Angkor Wat.

The event features several innovations, including three-dimensional experiences, digital technologies and online trade platforms. Dedicated areas also showcase cultural exchanges, defence industry products and culinary activities, offering visitors opportunities to explore the two countries’ commercial and cultural offerings.

Viettel Cambodia (MetFone) General Director Cao Mạnh Đức said his company was presenting solutions in artificial intelligence, green energy, digital finance, digital services and smart-city development to support Cambodia’s digital transformation.

He also called for increased investment in Cambodia from Vietnamese and international businesses to expand commercial opportunities and support the country’s development.

Meanwhile, Son Sarin, General Director of Cambodian coffee producer ACC, said the company was showcasing locally developed Khmer-branded coffee products. He added that the company planned to expand production and diversify its product range in response to market demand.

As part of the opening ceremony, the organisers and military-affiliated enterprises presented 30 computers and 10 printers to Cambodia’s ministries responsible for defence and commerce.

In addition, more than 2,000 gift packages containing products manufactured by military-affiliated enterprises will be distributed among Cambodian residents and visitors.

The exposition is expected to further strengthen business ties, expand market access and promote practical cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia as both countries prepare to mark six decades of diplomatic relations in 2027.
