Russia

St. Petersburg, October 22, 2026 – The Europe Today: Russian President Vladimir Putin has informed US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff that Moscow is ready in principle to resume trilateral talks on security arrangements involving Russia and Ukraine around November 10, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said.

According to Ushakov, Putin conveyed Russia’s readiness to restart the negotiations during his communication with Witkoff.

“Our president informed Steve Witkoff that we are ready in principle to resume the above-mentioned trilateral talks around November 10 on the main subject,” Ushakov said.

He clarified that the central issue of the proposed negotiations would be the establishment of a security system for Russia and Ukraine.

The proposed resumption of trilateral talks could provide a framework for further discussions on security arrangements between the two countries, with the United States involved in the diplomatic process.
