Taxila, October 23, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Pakistan Creative Economy, Culture and Trade Council (PCECTC) facilitated a visit by a Vietnamese delegation to the historic Taxila Museum. The delegation included representatives associated with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and the Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan. The aim of the visit was to promote Pakistan’s cultural heritage and positive international image.
Mr. Syed Usman Tahir, Founder of the PCECTC and Honorary Advisor to the Federal Minister for Culture of Pakistan, personally coordinated the visit. He accompanied the delegation throughout and introduced the guests to Pakistan’s historical, cultural and archaeological heritage.
The delegation toured the museum’s collections and learned about the ancient Gandhara civilization and its Buddhist legacy. They also visited the Buddhist sacred tree site, which gave them a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s historical and spiritual links with Buddhist culture.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tahir said that promoting Pakistan’s cultural heritage and positive international image is a shared responsibility. He said it falls on government ministries, cultural institutions, councils and organizations working in heritage, culture, tourism and international relations.
He highlighted the role of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture and its associated organizations. He said they have an important part to play in introducing foreign dignitaries, diplomats and international delegations to Pakistan’s cultural traditions, historical landmarks and civilizational heritage.
Mr. Tahir said international visitors should have meaningful opportunities to experience Pakistan beyond conventional perceptions. He said they should be able to discover its cultural diversity, hospitality and potential for international cooperation. He added that presenting Pakistan’s soft image to the world is “not merely an opportunity but an important responsibility.”
He said the PCECTC is actively working toward this goal by facilitating visits, encouraging cultural exchanges and building international relationships. He said coordinated efforts and engagement with international partners can strengthen mutual understanding and build lasting connections between nations.
The Council thanked Mr. Muhammad Asim Dogar, Deputy Director of Taxila Museum, for his cooperation, hospitality and informative guidance. It also thanked Mr. Numan for assisting the museum team during the visit. The Council also thanked Inspector Usama Riaz of the Punjab Tourism Force for his security arrangements, logistical support and hospitality, which ensured a smooth and welcoming experience for the guests.
The visit was described as a positive step toward strengthening Pakistan–Vietnam engagement in several areas: cultural exchange, heritage tourism, institutional collaboration and future bilateral trade.
The PCECTC reaffirmed its commitment to working with ministries, public institutions, diplomatic missions and cultural organizations. It said it will continue promoting Pakistan as a country of rich heritage, creativity, hospitality and international partnership.
