Tajikistan, Kuwait and UN Discuss Upcoming Counter-Terrorism Conference

Dushanbe, September 05, 2024, The Europe Today: A trilateral virtual meeting was convened on September 4 between Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan; Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait; and Vladimir Voronkov, United Nations Under-Secretary-General. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming conference within the framework of the “Dushanbe Process on Countering Terrorism.”

According to a report from the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan, the participants discussed various aspects of the conference scheduled to take place in Kuwait on November 4-5. The conference aims to advance global counter-terrorism strategies and enhance international cooperation in combating terrorism.

The “Dushanbe Process,” initiated by Tajikistan, is a key platform for dialogue and coordination among member states and international organizations on counter-terrorism measures. The upcoming conference in Kuwait is expected to build on previous discussions and foster collaborative efforts to address emerging security challenges.

The virtual meeting underscored the commitment of Tajikistan, Kuwait, and the United Nations to advancing global counter-terrorism initiatives and ensuring the success of the forthcoming conference.
