Astana, October 09, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed Woo Won-shik, Speaker of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly, at the Akorda presidential residence. This visit, Woo Won-shik’s first in his capacity as Speaker, was hailed by President Tokayev as a testament to the strong and evolving relationship between Kazakhstan and South Korea.
President Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation between the two nations, noting that South Korea is one of Kazakhstan’s key partners in Asia. He underscored the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary ties, which serve as a crucial mechanism for strengthening political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations.
Speaker Woo Won-shik expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s hospitality and reaffirmed his commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors. Both leaders discussed ongoing and future joint projects in fields such as the automotive industry, energy, industry, education, and culture.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on maintaining dialogue at all levels, including through multilateral platforms, to further bolster bilateral relations.
