President Ilham Aliyev Marks Kalbajar City Day with Commemorative Post

Baku, November 25, 2024 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev commemorated Kalbajar City Day with a post shared on his official social media accounts, celebrating the fourth anniversary of the city’s liberation from Armenian occupation.

In the post, President Aliyev stated: “Our victory history – four years have passed since Kalbajar’s liberation from Armenian occupation.”

The liberation of Kalbajar, which took place as part of Azerbaijan’s victory in the 2020 Second Karabakh War, marked a significant moment in the country’s recent history. The city’s return to Azerbaijani control was a major milestone in restoring territorial integrity and has since become a symbol of resilience and unity for the Azerbaijani people.

Kalbajar City Day is observed annually to honor the sacrifices made for its liberation and to highlight ongoing efforts to rebuild and revitalize the region, further integrating it into the nation’s economic and cultural fabric.
