Berlin, November 27, 2024 – The Europe Today: President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of his official visit to Berlin, engaged in bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a tête-à-tête meeting, according to media reports.

Chancellor Scholz expressed his admiration for the progress made in Kyrgyz-German relations and reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to advancing constructive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan across various sectors. He noted Germany’s willingness to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects, particularly in priority areas for both countries.

President Zhaparov emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations, acknowledging the growing interest of German businesses in Kyrgyzstan. “We are pleased that there is now significant interest from German business in our country. We welcome the participation of German business in our economy,” said President Zhaparov.

The Kyrgyz leader outlined several priority areas for future cooperation, including hydropower, transport, and logistics. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan remains open to economic partnerships not only with Germany but also with the broader European Union, signaling a desire to expand regional cooperation.
