Sarajevo, March 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Bosnian Prosecutor’s Office has issued arrest warrants for three senior Bosnian Serb lawmakers, including Milorad Dodik, the leader of Republika Srpska, after they failed to respond to a court summons from the chief federal prosecutor.
Dodik, along with Bosnian Serb Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic and Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandic, is suspected of undermining Bosnia’s constitutional order through a series of separatist actions.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Dodik dismissed the arrest order, stating, “Let’s see how they are going to try to arrest us. We are not worried, we are determined.” He further described the move as politically motivated and reiterated that he would not participate in the legal proceedings.
Dodik, who governs the Serb-majority entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina, has repeatedly refused to recognize the authority of the Bosnian prosecution office and has made it clear that he will not travel to Sarajevo for questioning.
Backing Dodik’s stance, Republika Srpska Interior Minister Sinisa Karan declared that “no one will be arrested.” He emphasized that the Ministry of the Interior is committed to “protecting the constitutional order, representatives of institutions, and all citizens,” and assured that this duty will be fully exercised.
Adding to the tensions, one of Dodik’s advisers warned that “any form of radicalization coming from Sarajevo” would be met “ferociously.”
The arrest orders mark a significant escalation in the ongoing political crisis between Republika Srpska and the central Bosnian government, further deepening divisions in the fragile Balkan nation.
