Subang Jaya, April 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the scene of the gas inferno in Putra Heights around 4:50 PM on Tuesday, April 1, to assess the situation and receive updates from local authorities.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister proceeded directly to a makeshift camp set up by the police near the Sri Maha Kaliamman Temple, where he was briefed on the ongoing efforts to contain the blaze.
Present at the site alongside Prime Minister Anwar were Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shaari, Subang Assemblyman Michelle Ng, and PETRONAS Group CEO Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz, all of whom were involved in overseeing the response to the incident.
The gas inferno, which erupted early in the morning around 8 AM, sent thick plumes of smoke into the sky, visible from several kilometers away. Firefighters from Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, and Puchong were swiftly dispatched to the scene to combat the flames.
The massive fire caused significant damage, with nearby houses suffering severe impacts. Disturbing images and videos of the destruction flooded social media, including footage showing the walls of a house punctured by what appeared to be shrapnel from the initial explosion.
Efforts are ongoing to contain the fire and ensure the safety of residents in the area. Further updates are expected as authorities continue to manage the situation.
