Astana, June 17, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping held official talks in Astana on Monday, according to the Press Service of Akorda. The meeting underscored the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations, as both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to elevating bilateral ties to new heights.
During the talks, President Tokayev emphasized that China is a good neighbor, close friend, and reliable partner of Kazakhstan. He credited President Xi’s personal support for the rapid advancement of Kazakh-Chinese cooperation, describing the pace of interaction as “unprecedented” and grounded in the spirit of a “comprehensive and eternal strategic partnership.”
Highlighting the historical friendship between the two nations, President Tokayev stated, “Our countries have always maintained mutual understanding and good-neighborly relations. China has never caused harm to the Kazakh people.” He added that the bilateral relationship has been built on the foundations of friendship and cooperation, free from conflict or obstacles.
President Tokayev described the current stage of relations as a new “golden age,” marked by growing political trust, dynamic economic collaboration, and joint efforts contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development and well-being of both peoples.
The Kazakh leader also noted the symbolic significance of Xi Jinping’s visit to Astana, which coincided with the Chinese President’s birthday. He extended heartfelt wishes for President Xi’s health, happiness, and continued success in his state duties.
Recognizing Xi Jinping as “a great statesman and a wise leader with immense international reputation,” President Tokayev commended his leadership for guiding China’s progressive development. “We are genuinely inspired by your country’s remarkable success in building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new historical era,” he said.
President Tokayev further expressed confidence that under Xi Jinping’s strong and authoritative leadership, China would continue to achieve new heights in socio-economic modernization and further enhance the welfare of its people.
Earlier in the day, President Tokayev warmly welcomed President Xi Jinping at the Akorda Presidential Palace, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated state visit aimed at reinforcing the enduring strategic ties between Kazakhstan and China.
