Islamabad, July 5, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a meeting on Thursday with a delegation led by Senator Sitara Ayaz, Secretary General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), to explore avenues for enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan reported.
The session commenced with a detailed presentation by the Turkmen side, outlining Turkmenistan’s foreign policy principles rooted in neutrality and peace. The delegation was also briefed on the country’s economic potential, major infrastructure initiatives, and the activities of the Mejlis (Parliament) in fostering cooperation with foreign legislative bodies and international parliamentary organizations.
Senator Sitara Ayaz and her delegation commended Turkmenistan’s neutral stance in global affairs and lauded the effective functioning of its national legislature. Both parties emphasized the importance of developing constructive dialogue between parliaments to address common challenges and promote legislative exchange.
Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, including the organization of joint events, conferences, and forums aimed at strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue, sharing best legislative practices, and promoting regional and global stability.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual interest in deepening bilateral parliamentary relations and advancing practical cooperation through multilateral parliamentary platforms.
