Beijing, September 03, 2025 – The Europe Today: A grand military parade was held at Tiananmen Square on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attending as an honorary guest.

According to Chinese officials, the event was the largest military parade in the history of the People’s Republic of China. Wu Zeke, Deputy Director of the Office of the Leading Group for the Military Parade and senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, stated that the parade highlighted the new organizational structure of China’s armed forces. For the first time, the display included advanced land, sea, and air-based strategic weapons, hypersonic and precision strike systems, as well as unmanned and counter-unmanned aerial vehicles.

The 70-minute ceremony featured 45 marching units, showcasing the Ground Troops, Navy, Air Force, and Missile Force, along with four additional branches of the armed forces: the Aerospace Force, the Cyberspace Force, the Information Support Force, and the Joint Logistics Support Force.

President Tokayev’s visit to Beijing followed his participation in the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the SCO Plus Summit in Tianjin, China.
