Avaza Hosts Opening of Turkmenistan Investment Forum 2025

Avaza, September 19, 2025 — The Europe Today: The Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2025) officially opened today in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, bringing together more than 800 foreign and domestic delegates to explore the country’s investment potential.

The forum commenced with a plenary session titled “Turkmenistan’s Investment Attractiveness as a Factor of Strategic Effectiveness”, moderated by Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan.

Keynote addresses were delivered by leading international figures, including Beatriz Luz Macer Mallor, Executive Director of the World Bank, and Rabab Fatima, UN Deputy Secretary-General, who joined the discussions virtually.

In his presentation, Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Mammetguly Astanagulov outlined the government’s strategy for attracting foreign investment and ensuring sustainable economic growth. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov also addressed the plenary, stressing that Turkmenistan’s investment appeal is closely tied to its national development strategy and foreign policy, which position the country as a reliable partner for international business.

Speaking via video message, UN Deputy Secretary-General Rabab Fatima commended Turkmenistan’s leadership in championing the interests of landlocked developing countries (LLDCs). She also presented new UN initiatives designed to facilitate greater investment flows.

Over the next two days, thematic sessions will focus on Turkmenistan’s priority economic sectors, highlighting opportunities for cooperation and partnership.

The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
