Beijing, September 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Pakistan-China Calligraphic Art Exhibition is being held at the Communication University of China, Beijing, from September 22–25, 2025, celebrating the timeless beauty of Urdu and Chinese calligraphy as a symbol of cultural harmony and the iron brotherhood between the two nations.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Institute for a Community with Shared Future (ICSF), China, and Pakistan’s National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.
Earlier this year, a special calligraphy exhibition was held at the National Language Promotion Department, Islamabad, Pakistan, with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan. That event showcased exquisite works in Urdu and Chinese scripts, celebrating the deep-rooted friendship of Pakistan and China. From that collection, ten of the finest pieces were selected and brought to Beijing, where they are now being displayed as powerful symbols of unity, shared heritage, and brotherhood.
Adding a global dimension, the exhibition is being held on the sidelines of the international conference on “Protecting and Promoting the Diversity of Cultural Expressions: Practices and Future”, taking place at the Communication University of China from September 22–25, 2025. With 23 countries from around the globe participating in the conference, this platform provides a valuable opportunity for Pakistan-China Calligraphic Art to be displayed before an international audience, further amplifying the cultural bond between the two nations.
Organizers emphasized that calligraphy, as an ancient art form, transcends language and geography. This exhibition, they noted, is more than an artistic display; it is a bridge of ink, a living expression of Pakistan-China friendship, and a celebration of cultural diversity.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General, National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Li Huailiang, Dean of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), in a ceremony held at Communication University of China, Beijing.
