Indonesia’s Eco-Friendly Furniture Records US$575,000 in Potential Deals at Paris Exhibition

Paris

Jakarta, October 11, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesia’s eco-friendly design and furniture products recorded potential transactions worth approximately US$575,000 at the Maison & Objet (M&O) 2025 exhibition held in Paris, according to Indonesian Trade Attaché in Paris, Harry Putranto.

Putranto stated that the figure resulted from furniture orders, distribution contracts for decorative accessories, and plans for expansion into Europe’s exclusive souvenir shop and museum segments.

“This enthusiasm reflects the European market’s strong interest in Indonesian design and furniture products while strengthening our position as a key player in the eco-friendly design industry,” he said in a statement issued on Saturday.

He emphasized that the achievement demonstrates international recognition of Indonesian design and craftsmanship.

The exhibition, held from September 4 to 8, also provided valuable opportunities to expand business networks for premium Indonesian products.

Three Indonesian exhibitors showcased distinctive creations, including high-end reproduction souvenirs, decorative accessories, fossilized wood coffee tables, bronze-plated washbasins, and modern furniture with local design elements.

Putranto reaffirmed the Indonesian government’s commitment to promoting local creative industries and supporting entrepreneurs to compete on a global scale.

“We will continue promoting our products through trade exploration, contract development, and international publications to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a world-class supplier of interior and decorative goods,” he added.

From January to July 2025, Indonesia’s furniture exports to France reached US$61.14 million, marking a 1.16 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024 — a continuation of the upward growth trend since 2023.

Putranto noted that this growth reflects the rising recognition of Indonesian furniture in the French market and its expanding potential across Europe.
