New York, October 18, 2025 — The Europe Today: On October 14, 2025, during the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Resolution titled “Avaza Political Declaration” was reviewed and unanimously adopted.
The resolution, co-sponsored by 57 member states, was adopted under Agenda Item 13 — Integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic, social and related fields.
The “Avaza Political Declaration” encapsulates the principal conclusions and strategic directions outlined in the Avaza Program of Action for 2024–2034, which was adopted at the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3). The landmark conference was held in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” in Turkmenistan under the chairmanship of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The resolution underscores the vital importance of international solidarity in enhancing the economic resilience of landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) and integrating them more effectively into the global economy. It also highlights key priorities such as the advancement of sustainable transport systems, digital and energy infrastructure development, trade facilitation, and environmental protection.
The unanimous adoption of the “Avaza Political Declaration” stands as a testament to Turkmenistan’s growing international prestige and its constructive role in global diplomacy. It further reflects the international community’s recognition of Turkmenistan’s efforts to uphold the principles of permanent neutrality, peace, mutual trust, and cooperation in advancing sustainable development at the global level.
