Azerbaijan Opens “House of Solidarity” Pavilion at COP30 in Belém

BakuNovember 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan officially inaugurated its national Pavilion at the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, on Tuesday, marking the formal handover of its COP29 Presidency while reaffirming its enduring commitment to global climate action and sustainable development.

The Azerbaijan Pavilion, titled the “House of Solidarity,” reflects the unifying spirit of COP29, emphasizing collaboration among nations in addressing the global climate crisis. The Pavilion features a “Hall of Legacy,” which highlights both the global impact of COP29 and Azerbaijan’s deep-rooted cultural and environmental heritage.

Showcasing key elements of the COP29 Presidency’s Action Agenda, the Pavilion presents eight flagship initiatives that encompass transparency, water resilience, peacebuilding, and human development. Through interactive displays, visitors can explore how these initiatives are designed to foster continuity, cooperation, and long-term climate ambition between successive COP Presidencies.

A major highlight of the Pavilion is Azerbaijan’s national clean energy strategy, represented by transformative projects such as the Karabakh Green Energy Zone, the Baku Green Transport Hub, the country’s expanding renewable energy portfolio, and the development of the EU–Asia Green Energy Corridor. These projects position Azerbaijan as a future green energy bridge between continents, reinforcing its strategic role in the global energy transition.

In alignment with COP30’s overarching theme on nature and biodiversity, the Pavilion also spotlights the Caspian Sea, one of the world’s most distinctive inland water ecosystems, alongside Azerbaijan’s diverse natural landscapes — from the ancient Hyrcanian forests to the majestic Caucasus Mountains. Interactive “Did You Know?” displays offer visitors insights into climate impacts on ecosystems and highlight ongoing national conservation and restoration efforts.

Adding a human dimension, the Pavilion features an immersive video installation where people from across Azerbaijan share personal climate stories, reflecting on how environmental changes are affecting their lives, communities, and cultural landscapes.

The Azerbaijan Pavilion thus stands as a symbol of both tradition and innovation, embodying the nation’s vision to bridge heritage and progress as it continues to contribute meaningfully to global efforts for a more sustainable, peaceful, and resilient planet.
