Dushanbe, April 18, 2026 – The Europe Today: Farzona Emomali, Head of the Department of Reforms, Primary Healthcare, and International Relations at Tajikistan’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP), has successfully defended her thesis and earned the degree of Candidate of Sciences in Medicine.
According to the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan, her research—titled “Modern Aspects of Medical and Social Services for Children and Adolescents in Medical Centers”—focuses on enhancing primary healthcare systems and implementing integrated medical and social services for young populations across the country. The thesis was supervised by Professor Zohir Nabiyev, Doctor of Medical Sciences.
The study highlights that children’s health outcomes are influenced by a range of socio-economic factors, including family background, parental education levels, and access to healthcare services. It emphasizes the importance of developing effective, integrated assistance models to support the holistic development of children and adolescents.
The Ministry noted that Farzona Emomali’s academic contributions include 15 scientific publications, nine of which are directly related to her thesis research.
Born on July 4, 1998, in Dushanbe, Farzona Emomali is the youngest daughter of Tajikistan’s President, Emomali Rahmon. She graduated with honors from the Tajik State Medical University named after Abu Ali ibn Sino in 2020, following her enrollment in the Faculty of General Medicine in 2014.
She later completed a clinical residency in pediatrics in 2022 and, in 2023, graduated with honors from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Tajikistan with a degree in public administration.
Since 2021, she has been serving within the MoHSPP, and in August 2025, she was appointed to head the Directorate of Reforms, Primary Healthcare, and International Relations, reflecting her growing role in shaping Tajikistan’s healthcare policy and reform agenda.
