Erin, June 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: Maja Stark delivered an impressive third-round performance at the U.S. Women’s Open, significantly improving her position as she seeks to defend her title.
After an even-par opening round and a second round of one-over-par, Stark entered Saturday facing a challenging task. However, she responded with a much stronger display, recording five birdies and finishing the day at three-under-par (−3).
Her improved round lifted her overall tournament score to two-under-par (−2), placing her in a tie for 11th position on the leaderboard and keeping her within striking distance of the leaders.
The tournament is currently led by American golfer Nelly Korda and South Korea’s Kim Sei-young, who are jointly leading the field at six-under-par (−6).
Meanwhile, fellow Swedish players Anna Nordqvist and Ingrid Lindblad faced more difficult rounds, ending the day at two-over-par (+2) and four-over-par (+4) respectively.
With one round remaining, Stark remains in contention and will aim to continue her upward momentum in the final stage of the championship.
