Kyiv, July 12, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced plans for a major government reshuffle, proposing the replacement of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko while assigning her a new diplomatic role focused on strengthening relations with one of Ukraine’s key international partners.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, President Zelenskyy praised Svyrydenko for her leadership and service during a critical period for the country.
“I am grateful to Yuliia for her clear, steady, and effective work as Prime Minister, and for her years of productive service on Ukraine’s team,” the president said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Svyrydenko would continue serving Ukraine in a different capacity, revealing that he has offered her the responsibility of leading a newly designated area of international cooperation with one of the country’s strategic global partners.
The proposed changes will now be submitted to Ukraine’s parliament for approval as part of the formal government transition process.
“I expect that, together with MPs, we will make the corresponding changes in the Government of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said, expressing confidence that lawmakers would endorse the planned leadership changes.
The proposed reshuffle is expected to mark a significant transition in Ukraine’s executive leadership as the government continues to navigate ongoing domestic and international challenges.
