Islamabad, August 21, 2026 — The Europe Today: Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev participated on August 19 in a meeting of Ambassadors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States hosted by Pakistan’s National Coordinator for the SCO, Dr. Muhammad Faisal.
The meeting focused on organizational and coordination matters concerning Pakistan’s upcoming chairmanship of the SCO.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Khorev underscored that the SCO remains one of the key priorities of Russia’s foreign policy. He stressed the importance of advancing concrete initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among member states in areas including finance, investment, technology, industrial cooperation, the digital economy, transportation and energy.
Ambassador Khorev also expressed his best wishes to his Pakistani counterparts for a successful SCO chairmanship. He reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to constructive cooperation with Pakistan and other SCO member states in further strengthening the organization’s role and practical cooperation across priority sectors.
