Ashgabat, September 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has congratulated teachers, education workers, students and schoolchildren on Knowledge and Student Youth Day and the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year, according to Turkmen state media.
In his message, the President noted that the new academic year would coincide with the ceremonial opening of new buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in Ashgabat and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat. Modern secondary schools and kindergartens are also being commissioned in the country’s provinces.
The President further noted that Bilimli laptop computers would be presented as gifts to children entering school for the first time.
Berd Berdimuhamedov emphasized that significant efforts are being made to raise a well-educated, broad-minded and patriotic younger generation capable of effectively using modern technologies. He said the country continues to construct modern kindergartens, secondary schools and vocational education institutions while undertaking measures to modernize the national education system.
The President described young people as the country’s bright future and expressed the hope that they would achieve outstanding results in national and international academic competitions, olympiads, sports events and creative festivals during the new academic year, thereby enhancing Turkmenistan’s reputation internationally.
Highlighting the important role of teachers and education workers in educating and shaping the younger generation, Berdimuhamedov stressed the need to introduce the latest scientific achievements, innovative teaching methods and advanced educational practices across all areas of the education system.
Concluding his message, the President extended his congratulations to teachers, education workers, students and schoolchildren on Knowledge and Student Youth Day and the start of the new academic year, wishing them good health, prosperity, happiness and success in their studies and professional activities.
