Samarkand, November 15, 2023, The Europe Today: At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Head of the Social Development Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Odil Abdurakhmonov, President of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey Erol Özvar, Ambassador of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar, Rector of Samarkand State University Rustam Kholmurodov noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey is developing in various fields, in particular in higher education.
The Forum continued its work in relevant areas. Issues of enhancing collaboration between higher education institutions of the two countries, student exchange programs, joint scientific projects, and strengthening relations in other strategic areas were discussed.
As part of the event, it is planned to organize bilateral meetings between Mr. Abdurakhmonov and the President of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey Erol Özvar, Rector of Ege University Necdet Budak, Rector of Istanbul Technical University İsmail Koyuncu, Rector of Hacettepe University Mehmet Cahit Güran.
During the forum, it is planned to sign a memorandum and an action plan and adopt a forum resolution.
