Pakistan and Hungary Hold 6th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Budapest

Budapest, May 28, 2024,The Europe Today: Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe) Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan led the Pakistan delegation at the 6th Round of Pakistan-Hungary Bilateral Political Consultations in Budapest. Ambassador Lazlo Varadi, Deputy State Secretary, headed the Hungarian side during the constructive dialogue.

During the consultations, both delegations comprehensively reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, reflecting on past achievements and exploring avenues for further collaboration. Discussions also encompassed regional and global developments of mutual interest, with a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation on various fronts.

A key outcome of the meeting was the mutual agreement to sustain the positive momentum in bilateral relations and to identify new areas of cooperation that would benefit both nations. Both sides reiterated their commitment to fostering stronger ties in areas such as trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

In addition to the bilateral consultations, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan engaged in productive discussions with Hungarian officials. He met with Petar Szataray, the State Secretary for Security Policy and Energy Security, to explore avenues for cooperation in security and energy domains. Furthermore, he held talks with Atilla Hidegh, Deputy State Secretary for International Cooperation, aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing collaboration on the international stage.

The 6th Round of Pakistan-Hungary Bilateral Political Consultations reaffirms the commitment of both countries to deepen their multifaceted relationship and underscores the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation in advancing mutual interests and contributing to regional and global peace and stability.
