Ashgabat, June 14, 2024, The Europe Today: Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova met with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev, who is in Ashgabat on a working visit. The Turkmen parliament’s press service reported on the meeting.
During their negotiations, both parties underscored the special role of inter-parliamentary interaction in further strengthening the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Russia. They explored prospects for expanding cooperation in this realm, including enhancing the work of bilateral parliamentary friendship groups and sharing experiences in legislative improvements and parliamentary activities.
Special emphasis was placed on the preparations for the upcoming Parliamentary Forum of the States of Central Asia and Russia. Participants acknowledged that this forum significantly contributes to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation and fosters the multilateral development of international relations.
Following the discussions, Gulmanova and Kosachev expressed confidence in the continued successful development and enrichment of the inter-parliamentary dialogue, adding new content for the benefit of the peoples of the two friendly states.
