Uzbekistan Achieves Success at U-20 Asian Wrestling Championship in Thailand

Sriracha, July 23, 2024, The Europe Today: The U-20 Asian Wrestling Championship is currently underway in Sriracha, Thailand, showcasing the talents of young wrestlers from across the continent.

According to the National Olympic Committee, the Greco-Roman wrestling masters have commenced their competitions with impressive performances from the Uzbek national team.

The wrestlers from Uzbekistan have secured a commendable haul of medals, winning one gold and five bronze medals. Alexander Nazarov clinched the gold medal in the 72 kg weight category, demonstrating his exceptional skills and determination.

In addition to Nazarov’s victory, five other Uzbek wrestlers earned bronze medals: Kuvonchbek Yakhasboyev (55 kg), Alisher Ganiyev (60 kg), Amirshah Vahobov (77 kg), Orozali Turdialiyev (82 kg), and Javlonbek Tirkashev (97 kg).

These achievements reflect the dedication and hard work of the Uzbek wrestlers and their coaching staff. The National Olympic Committee expressed pride in the team’s performance and is hopeful for continued success in the remaining competitions of the championship.
