Paris, July 27, 2024, The Europe Today: China commenced the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with remarkable success, securing two gold medals before midday on the first official day of competition.
The first gold medal of the Games was awarded to the Chinese duo Sheng Lihao and Huang Yuting, who triumphed in the 10m air rifle mixed team event with a narrow 16-12 victory over their South Korean counterparts. Earlier, Kazakhstan clinched the bronze medal in the same event.
Shortly after, China’s Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen captured the second gold medal for their nation in the synchronized 3m springboard final. The pair outperformed the American team of Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook, who earned silver, while Britain’s Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen secured the bronze medal.
