Dushanbe, July 11, 2026 – The Europe Today: Tajikistan is steadily transforming its economy from one reliant on raw material exports to a production-oriented model, President Emomali Rahmon said, highlighting industrialization as a cornerstone of the country’s long-term economic development strategy.
Speaking during a meeting on the country’s economic development, President Rahmon said the government has prioritized expanding domestic manufacturing, increasing value-added production, and reducing dependence on the export of raw materials. He emphasized that these efforts are aimed at strengthening economic resilience, creating jobs, and improving the living standards of the population.
The president noted that the implementation of industrial development programs and investment in modern production facilities have accelerated the country’s economic transformation. He stressed that promoting local industries and processing domestic resources will enhance Tajikistan’s export potential and boost its competitiveness in regional and international markets.
Rahmon reaffirmed that industrialization remains one of the government’s strategic priorities, with continued support for entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and investment projects designed to diversify the national economy and ensure sustainable growth.
The transition toward a production-based economy forms part of Tajikistan’s broader vision of achieving greater economic self-reliance, expanding industrial output, and generating higher-value exports to support long-term national development.
