Jakarta, August 04, 2024, The Europe Today: A delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC), led by Sun Haiyan, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, visited Indonesia on July 28 to bolster bilateral ties and enhance inter-party cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation met with Prabowo Subianto, general chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement Party and president-elect of Indonesia. The discussions focused on strengthening China-Indonesia relations and exploring avenues for collaboration between their respective political parties.
In addition to the high-profile meeting with Subianto, the CPC delegation engaged with other prominent Indonesian political figures. These included Megawati Sukarnoputri, chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and former Indonesian president, and Airlangga Hartarto, general chairman of the Party of Functional Groups and coordinating minister for economic affairs. The delegation also held discussions with representatives from Indonesian think tanks and universities.
The meetings provided a platform for the exchange of views on various aspects of China-Indonesia relations and inter-party exchanges. The CPC delegation elaborated on the outcomes of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee held in July, highlighting key developments and strategic directions.
The Indonesian leaders expressed their desire to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation across various fields, including inter-party interactions, with the aim of achieving mutual development and modernization. They emphasized the importance of working together with China to foster win-win outcomes and promote progress.
The visit by the CPC delegation underscores the commitment of both China and Indonesia to deepen their strategic partnership and enhance cooperation in political, economic, and social spheres.
