Tashkent, September 04, 2024, The Europe Today: Bakhtiyor Ibragimov has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, succeeding Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, who served in the role from 2018 to 2024, according to a report by News Hub Consultants.
Ibragimov brings a wealth of experience to his new post, having graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade. His diplomatic career began in 1994 within the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan, now known as the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade.
In 2001, Ibragimov took on a significant role at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, where he served as First Secretary and later as a Trade and Economic Advisor. Upon returning to Uzbekistan, he held various key positions in economic structures within the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, including Head of a Sector in the Cabinet of Ministers.
From 2019 to 2022, Ibragimov served as the Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, further solidifying his diplomatic credentials. In addition to his ambassadorial roles, he has held prominent positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Director of a Department and served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
As the new Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Ibragimov is expected to build on the strong ties between the two neighboring countries, focusing on enhancing economic cooperation, trade, and cultural exchanges. His extensive experience in foreign trade and diplomacy is anticipated to contribute to the continued development of Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan relations.
