Beijing, November 9, 2024 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a warm reception from Indonesian citizens upon his arrival in Beijing for a four-day state visit. Greeted by Indonesian students and citizens waving national flags outside his hotel on Friday evening, Prabowo took a moment to speak with them, asking about their studies and encouraging them to excel.
Among those he spoke to was Patricia Benita, a master’s student at the Central Conservatory of Music, who told Prabowo she was learning violin-making. The President warmly encouraged her, saying, “Study well, okay.”
Prabowo also paused for a selfie with another student group, displaying his characteristic approachability.
Upon entering the hotel, Prabowo was welcomed by top Indonesian officials, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, along with Indonesian business figures, including his brother Hashim Djojohadikusumo.
Prabowo’s Beijing agenda includes meetings with key Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang, and Zhao Leji, Chair of the National People’s Congress, set to take place on Saturday.
