Sochi, November 11, 2024 — The Europe Today: Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed Moscow’s commitment to deepening its partnership with African nations, vowing “all possible assistance” in critical areas including health, security, and economic stability. The announcement came during Putin’s address at the inaugural Russia-Africa Partnership Forum ministerial conference held in the Sirius Federal Territory, near Sochi on the Black Sea.
The conference, attended by over 40 African ministers and around 1,500 participants, underscores the strengthening ties between Russia and Africa. Putin praised African countries for their constructive role in global diplomacy, noting, “They play an increasingly important role in resolving the most important issues on the international agenda.” He highlighted Africa’s significant contributions to peace and stability on the world stage, commending the continent’s commitment to a peaceful foreign policy.
Emphasizing Russia’s dedication to a “fair, multipolar world order” rooted in equality and free from “discrimination, dictate, and sanctions pressure,” Putin pledged Moscow’s support in addressing key issues facing African nations. He outlined Russia’s contributions to “sustainable development, the fight against terrorism and extremism, countering epidemic diseases,” as well as aid for food security and natural disaster response.
Expressing optimism about the conference’s outcome, Putin remarked, “We are united in the desire to build a fair, multipolar world order based on genuine equality and the rule of international law.” He hopes the event will foster substantial agreements to bolster Russian-African relations for the mutual benefit of all participating nations.
