President Prabowo Subianto Pledges to Strengthen Indonesia-UAE Relations During State Visit

Abu Dhabi, November 24, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto has committed to bolstering the bilateral ties between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During his state visit to the UAE, he conveyed this pledge in a written message, expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the UAE government and its people.

“I am entitled to work hard to enhance the cooperation and the friendship between the UAE and Indonesia,” President Prabowo stated in his message.

Upon his arrival at the Qasr Al Watn Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, President Prabowo was warmly received by UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) in a grand state ceremony. His convoy was greeted at the palace gates by traditional cavalry, camels, and musicians, accompanied by a 21-cannon salute.

At the palace entrance, President MBZ personally welcomed President Prabowo. The two leaders shook hands before proceeding past children who greeted them with warm smiles. The ceremonial proceedings included the playing of the national anthems of both countries, as the leaders stood between the flags of Indonesia and the UAE.

The welcome ceremony concluded with a luncheon hosted by President MBZ in honor of his Indonesian counterpart.

Following the formal reception, the two leaders engaged in a bilateral meeting where they oversaw the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at expanding cooperation in key sectors, including industry and advanced technology, energy, health, culture, tourism, mining, infrastructure, and government development.

The visit underscores President Prabowo’s commitment to deepening the longstanding partnership between Indonesia and the UAE, paving the way for enhanced collaboration in various fields.
