Kazakhstan and Qatar Strengthen Strategic Partnership During High-Level Talks

Doha, December 7, 2024 – The Europe Today: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during his visit to Doha, the Akorda press service reports. The meeting coincided with President Tokayev’s participation in the 22nd edition of the Doha Forum, a platform recognized for fostering open discussions on critical global issues.

President Tokayev expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Tamim for the invitation to the forum and lauded his personal efforts in enhancing bilateral relations. He noted that the Kazakh-Qatari partnership has now reached the level of a strategic alliance.

Discussions focused on the effective implementation of joint investment projects spanning various sectors, including banking, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, and healthcare. Tokayev emphasized that these projects, involving Qatari business participation, would significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of both nations.

Sheikh Tamim highlighted the long-standing, strategic cooperation between Astana and Doha, underscoring the systematic efforts of both governments to realize the agreements reached at the highest levels. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining active political dialogue, which they agreed would further strengthen and deepen bilateral relations.

President Tokayev’s visit to Qatar marks another milestone in the growing partnership between the two nations, with both leaders expressing optimism about the future of their collaborative efforts.
