Eliano Reijnders Marks 100 Matches for PEC Zwolle Amid Rising International Career with Indonesia

Amsterdam, December 22, 2024 – The Europe Today: Indonesian-Dutch footballer Eliano Reijnders, a midfielder for Indonesia’s national team, has reached a significant milestone in his club career, making his 100th appearance for PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie, the Netherlands’ top-tier football league.

The 24-year-old played his 100th match on Saturday in a 1-1 draw against RKC Waalwijk, starting the game and being substituted in the 83rd minute by Thomas Buitink.

Reijnders, who joined PEC Zwolle during the 2018–2019 season, debuted for the senior team during the 2020–2021 season in a KNVB Cup match against Excelsior Rotterdam. In his inaugural match, he played in an attacking role for 63 minutes. Later that season, he made his Eredivisie debut as a winger in a game against Feyenoord Rotterdam, a 16-time league champion.

During the 2020–2021 season, Reijnders accumulated 1,642 minutes across 29 matches and scored three goals. To date, he has netted six goals in 100 matches across multiple competitions, amassing 5,847 minutes on the field for PEC Zwolle.

Beyond his club achievements, Reijnders has begun carving out a promising international career with Indonesia. Naturalized on September 30, 2024, he has been called up three times for the Garuda Squad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He debuted for Indonesia in a 2-2 draw against Bahrain in Riffa on October 10 but did not feature in a subsequent 1-2 defeat against China.

In November, Reijnders was part of the squad for a 2-0 home victory over Saudi Arabia but is yet to make a second appearance for the national team.

As the younger brother of AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, Eliano’s growing profile highlights his adaptability, with the ability to play as a midfielder or wing-back, and his significant contributions to both club and country.
