Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Azerbaijan in February for Bilateral Talks

Islamabad, January 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit Azerbaijan in February as part of Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen ties with Central Asian and Caucasian nations. The visit is in line with Pakistan’s “Vision Central Asia” strategy, which aims to enhance diplomatic and economic engagement with key regional players.

The visit, scheduled for the third week of February, will include stops in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Prime Minister Sharif will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, as well as other senior government officials. A delegation of business community representatives will also join the prime minister on this important trip.

This will mark Prime Minister Sharif’s third visit to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in less than seven months. According to sources, the visit will focus on deepening bilateral relations and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. It is also expected to see the signing of several agreements aimed at enhancing collaboration in various sectors.

The prime minister’s trip comes at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who visited Pakistan last year to further cement the partnership between the two nations.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s continued focus on fostering closer ties with its Central Asian neighbors and the broader Caucasus region, in a bid to secure stronger economic and diplomatic links.
