Heydar Aliyev Foundation Among Winners of 4th Hamdan-ICESCO Prize for Educational Development

Baku, February 9, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, renowned for its extensive contributions to social welfare and education, has been named one of the winners of the 4th Hamdan-ICESCO Prize for Voluntary Development of Educational Facilities in the Islamic World. The prestigious award is presented by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences to recognize outstanding voluntary initiatives that enhance educational environments across the Islamic world.

The Hamdan-ICESCO Prize aims to encourage and support voluntary efforts in education by fostering sustainable development, improving educational infrastructure, and promoting equal access to quality education. The award highlights initiatives that have made a lasting impact on educational facilities and learning opportunities.

For this edition, the Prize Jury selected three distinguished institutions for their contributions to educational development:

  • Hadramawt Foundation – Human Development (Yemen): Awarded for its “Pilot High Schools” project, which focuses on establishing and modernizing high schools in Hadramawt Governorate to enhance education quality in the region.
  • Heydar Aliyev Foundation (Azerbaijan): Recognized for its “Educational and Social Support Project”, dedicated to building and rehabilitating schools in multiple countries, both within and beyond the Islamic world.
  • Moroccan Foundation for Primary Education (Morocco): Honored for its initiative to equip primary education departments in rural, semi-rural, and urban areas across Morocco, ensuring an integrated learning environment for children in remote regions.

This year’s award underscores the growing importance of voluntary efforts in addressing educational challenges and creating sustainable solutions for infrastructure development. The Hamdan-ICESCO Prize continues to serve as a leading global initiative in promoting voluntary action in education, reinforcing its role in shaping the future of learning across the Islamic world.
