Tirana, March 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kyrgyz wrestler Aiperi Medet Kyzy secured a silver medal at the ranking wrestling tournament held in Albania, competing in the women’s 76 kg category.
Medet Kyzy began her campaign from the 1/8 final stage, where she secured a narrow 1:0 victory over her Chinese opponent. In the quarterfinals, she showcased her dominance by defeating an Italian wrestler with a decisive 9:0 score.
In the semifinals, the Kyrgyz athlete continued her winning streak, overcoming Ukraine’s Anastasia Alpeeva to book a spot in the final. However, in a closely contested gold medal match, Medet Kyzy fell short against her American opponent, losing by a score of 2:1.
Her silver medal performance highlights her exceptional skills and determination, further cementing her status as one of Kyrgyzstan’s top wrestlers on the international stage.
